Country music icon Dwight Yoakam is bringing his unmistakable Bakersfield-inspired sound to the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton on Sunday, June 28, 2026. With more than 25 million albums sold worldwide, multiple GRAMMY® Awards, and a career packed with chart-topping hits, Yoakam has become one of the most influential and enduring artists in country music. Fans can expect an unforgettable night featuring classics like “Guitars, Cadillacs,” “Fast As You,” “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere,” and more.
Opening the evening are The Prairie States, one of Western Canada’s fastest-rising country bands. Fresh off their 2025 Country Music Alberta Group/Duo of the Year win, the Alberta-based group has earned a reputation for energetic live performances, heartfelt storytelling, and a modern country sound infused with rock influences. Led by Indigenous singer-songwriter Mat Cardinal, The Prairie States are making waves with their latest single, “Feels Like Forever,” while fan favourites “Waiting On You” and “Trouble Is” have helped the band amass millions of streams and a growing fanbase across Canada.
