Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Returns to Penticton for 11th Year

The Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) announced today that tickets for the 2026 CSSHL Western Championships will go on sale Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 10am PST.

The event takes place March 7-22, 2026, in Penticton, B.C. and will see champions crowned in the U15, U15 Prep, U17, U17 Prep, U18 Prep and Female U18 Prep divisions. Each division will be split into Division I & Division 2 pre-Championships based on the official CSSHL MYHockey Rankings, with each division crowning a champion. This will be the 11th time the City of Penticton has hosted the CSSHL Western Championships event. This event provides CSSHL member programs and its staff and student-athletes, aged 13-18, with valuable opportunities and experience.

It was announced back in March of 2023 that the CSSHL and its partners Okanagan Hockey Group, Oak View Group, Travel Penticton and the City of Penticton reached an agreement for a 10-year term (five years, with an additional five-year renewal clause) to host the Western Championships beginning in March 2024.

The 2025 Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Western Championships held March 2-16, reported an economic impact record of $6.725 million—almost $1.5 million more than the 2024 record of $5.231 million, and more than double the total from 2023. The 2025 event saw 104 teams descend on Penticton, including over 2,100 players and staff from four Western Canadian provinces, Idaho, and Washington. A record number of 7,300 spectators attended the event over the two-week period.

“We are excited to once again have Okanagan Hockey Group partnered with Oak View Group to bring the CSSHL Western Championships back to Penticton,” said Kevin Goodwin, Chief Operating Officer of the CSSHL. “The support we receive from the City of Penticton, Travel Penticton, and the Western Hockey League allows us to put on a first-class event that highlights the very best in education-based hockey, while providing a great championship atmosphere and experience for our member programs to conclude their seasons.”

Tickets are $27.50 for a day pass and $75 for a full tournament pass. Spectators 18 years of age and younger receive free tickets.
