SUMMARY:TEDDY & TOQUE TOSS: Penticton Vees vs. Salmon Arm Silverbacks
DESCRIPTION:TEDDY & TOQUE TOSS\nPresented by Bannister Chevrolet Penticton\nThe annual “Teddy & Toque Toss” event hosted by the Penticton Vees is scheduled for Saturday\, December 9th\, against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC)\, presented by Bannister Chevrolet Penticton. \nThis season\, the focus has shifted from stuffed toys to a call for new or gently used winter outerwear (including toques\, gloves\, jackets\, etc.) for all age groups\, as well as new and packaged diapers. While stuffed toys are still appreciated\, the Salvation Army has identified a growing demand for winter outerwear in recent years. Attendees will have the opportunity to contribute by tossing their soft donations onto the ice following the Vees’ first goal of the game. \nIn conjunction with the soft goods collection\, the Salvation Army will be accepting food and cash donations at the top of Gate 1 on the main concourse. It is emphasized that food and cash donations should not be thrown onto the ice. \nThe game night sponsor\, Bannister Chevrolet Penticton\, will be on-site with great prizes to be won! Fans are encouraged to visit their table on the main concourse to participate in a chance to win one of three prizes or engage with their team to learn about special in-store offers at the dealership. \n  \n\n  \nREGULAR SEASON PRICING –  \n\nAdults – $19* each\nSeniors (65+ ) – $17* each\nLocal Children/Students (18 & under) – FREE** courtesy of Peter’s Bros Construction\n\nAll children/students must enter through Gate 1 (main entrance) of the SOEC.\nAll children/students must present photo identification (student ID\, driver’s license\, etc.) to receive a game ticket at the Valley First Box Office and to enter the venue on game night.\nChildren/students in Grade 8 or lower must be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout the game.\nKids 14-18 must show ID to receive a free ticket.\n\n\nNon-Local Children/Students (18 & under) – $10.00* each*Additional fees apply online.\n**Does not apply to premium seating.\n\nPlease note that adult and senior ticket prices increase by one dollar ($1.00) on game day. \n*Additional fees apply online and over the phone.\n**Does not apply to premium seating. \n  \n\n\nFAN CODE OF CONDUCT AND CHILD/STUDENT ENTRY POLICIES:\n\nThe South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) and the Penticton Vees are committed to providing a safe\, comfortable\, and enjoyable event experience for all fans and event participants. Since its creation\, the show has dazzled over 10 million people\, in 20 countries on 4 continents. Corteo\, presented by Sun Life\, will be presented at the South Okanagan Event Centre for 8 performances only\, from January 4th to January 7th\, 2024. \nCorteo\, which means cortege in Italian\, is a joyous procession\, a festive parade imagined by a clown. Combining acrobatic feats\, comedy\, and acting\, the show plunges spectators into a theatrical world of fun and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth. \nIn a carnival atmosphere\, the clown pictures his own funeral taking place\, watched over by quietly caring angels. Juxtaposing the large with the small\, the ridiculous with the tragic\, and the magic of perfection with the charm of imperfection\, the show highlights the strength and fragility of the clown\, as well as his wisdom and kindness\, to illustrate the share of humanity within each of us. The music sometimes turns lyrical\, sometimes playful\, carrying Corteo through a timeless celebration in which illusion teases reality. \nThe stage is central in the arena and divides the venue in two with each half of the audience facing the other half\, giving a unique perspective to the audience and the performers. A never seen before atmosphere at a Cirque du Soleil arena show. The set curtains\, inspired by the Eiffel Tower\, and the central curtains\, which were hand-painted\, give a grandiose feel to the stage. This sets the tone for the poetry of Corteo. \n\n\nA travel advisory is currently in effect between Penticton and Peachland on Highway 97. Travel time may be extended. Those coming from the Central and North Okanagan are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly. \nFor more information\, visit www.drivebc.ca.

He penned some of the most memorable lyrics on N.W.A’s groundbreaking songs\, including “Straight Outta Compton” and “F**k Tha Police.” Ice Cube’s impact was so significant that he left the group at the peak of its popularity to pursue one of the most successful careers in music history. As a solo recording artist\, Ice Cube has sold more than 10 million albums and remains one of rap’s most respected and influential artists. His contributions to the genre earned him a well-deserved induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. Ice Cube released his first solo album in 8 years\, “Everythang’s Corrupt\,” which marks his 10th solo album and 18th album overall. The album\, released via Interscope Records in December 2018\, continues Ice Cube’s legacy as one of the most politically outspoken rappers of all time\, showcasing that the power of his voice and vision is stronger than ever.
