SUMMARY:Boney M. featuring Liz Mitchell with Morgan James
DESCRIPTION:Internationally acclaimed Euro-Caribbean vocal group Boney M. featuring original lead singer Liz Mitchell is set to perform in Penticton on Saturday\, December 7 at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Performing all their classic hits and holiday favourites – ONE NIGHT ONLY! \nTickets are $35.00\, $55.00\, $65.00 and $85.00* and will go on sale to the general public Friday\, June 14 at 10am. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC\, by phone 1.877.763.2849 or online HERE. \nBoney M. was not only THE disco cult band of the 70’s and 80’s but remains a living legend of the entire disco era. Originally founded in Germany by writer and producer Frank Farian\, Boney M. was one of the disco-orientated pop acts which dominated the European charts throughout the late seventies and early eighties with a string of hits well remembered to this day. Farian moulded the four piece band in the dance pop fashion\, featuring the stunning vocals of Liz Mitchell\, which proved irresistible to radio\, dance floor and partygoers. \nThe biography of Boney M.’s hits is extensive. The group had eight Number One hits in the European charts\, has sold over 100 million records worldwide and is known for huge international hits such ‘Daddy Cool’\, ‘Sunny’\, ‘Ma Baker’\, ‘Belfast’\, ‘Rivers of Babylon’\, ‘Brown Girl in the Ring’\, ‘Rasputin’ and ‘Mary’s Boy Child’. \nIn addition to the successes of Boney M.’s singles was the success of three Number One albums in the European market: Take the Heat off Me\, Nightflight to Venus\, Love for Sale. Now in the 21st Century\, there is obviously no doubt that songs from the past are far more popular than ever before. Boney M.’s international success during the past twenty five years has proven that their hits definitely belong to the collection of timeless classics. \nOpening for Boney M. is New York-based soul singer\, songwriter Morgan James. Her most recent studio album\, “Reckless Abandon” is her first as an independent artist\, and it is her most personal outing yet\, prompting the Huffington Post to call Morgan James the “Brightest Breakout Artist of the Year”. This year\, Morgan also took on a full album cover of the Beatles’ iconic ‘White Album’ to celebrate the 50th anniversary; available on CD\, vinyl\, digital and full length concept video on her YouTube channel. Morgan recorded two full-length albums with Epic Records: “Hunter”\, an album of original soul and R&B\, and “Morgan James Live”\, a tribute to Nina Simone. Morgan’s music videos have accumulated more than 175 million views (and climbing). \nFor more information about Boney M. and original lead singer Liz Mitchell\, click here: https://mn2s.com/booking-agency/live-roster/liz-mitchell/

SUMMARY:We Will Rock You | Queen-Inspired Rock Musical
DESCRIPTION:With the recent Oscar®-winning film\, “Bohemian Rhapsody\,” the music of Queen is more popular than ever. In 2002\, many of those hits were compiled into a rock musical experience\, WE WILL ROCK YOU\, which will be hitting the road once again for a North American tour\, including a stop at the South Okanagan Events Centre  in Penticton on January 3\, 2020. \nProduced by Annerin Theatricals in Alberta\, Canada\, WE WILL ROCK YOU tickets will will be offering a VIP package at each stop\, which include cast member meet and greet\, exclusive merchandise\, and much more. Local venue pre-sales will be available starting Wednesday\, July 3 at 10am local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday\, July 5 at 10am local time. More information can be found on the musical’s official website\, and a trailer can be seen here. \nWE WILL ROCK YOU is a quirky\, eccentric and heartfelt story of outsiders\, as well as a creative cautionary tale for the cyberage. It reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. The audience can expect WE WILL ROCK YOU to rock as fiercely as the best of Queen’s concerts. \n“Annerin is proud to be able to produce WE WILL ROCK YOU\, and we are obviously lucky with our timing\,” says Jeff Parry\, President Annerin Theatricals. “This is a show I have wanted to produce since I first saw it in London. My vision was to be able to produce it in such a way that it plays in soft-seaters as well as cut-down arenas. I thought that Queen’s musical was for everyone and not just the typical Broadway crowd\, therefore we’re producing it in a way that can accommodate most buildings and audiences that want to experience the music of Queen in a uniquely theatrical manner.” \nSince 2002\, over 16 million theatregoers in 19 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production which is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton (“The Young Ones\,” “Blackadder\, “Popcorn”). The original West End production featured music supervision from Brian May and Roger Taylor\, and Elton fashioned this futuristic story around more than 24 of Queen’s biggest hit songs including: “We Are the Champions\,” “Radio Ga Ga\,” “I Want To Break Free\,” “Somebody To Love\,” “Killer Queen\,” “Don’t Stop Me Now\,” “Under Pressure\,” “Bohemian Rhapsody\,” “Another One Bites The Dust” and\, of course\, “We Will Rock You.” \nThe fifteenth longest-running musical in West End history received rave reviews upon its original premiere. \n“…spectacular…”\n— Daily Mirror \n“The impressive set with sophisticated hydraulics and huge video screens bearing computer animated\nscenes conjure up a colourful vision of the future.”\n— The Independent \n “A new breed of musical – it’s brilliant.”\n— BBC Newsnight \nWith the Oscar®-winning film\, “Bohemian Rhapsody\,” the music of Queen is more popular than ever. WE WILL ROCK YOU follows two revolutionaries\, Galileo and Scaramouche\, on a quest to save rock n’ roll in a post-apocalyptic world where there are no musical instruments and rock n’ roll has died. They join a small group of societal outcasts\, the Bohemians\, as they fight to take back the iPlanet from the all-powerful Globalsoft\, led by the Killer Queen. They fight for freedom\, individuality and the rebirth of rock ‘n roll.
